Jodi is an explorer, wanderer and seeker. She likes being out there with the truckers and the kickers and the cowboy angels; looking for (and finding) truth and beauty in unlikely places. She is a strong proponent of relocalization, community gardens, and using cars as little as possible. She loves animals, and mourns all the dead by the side of the road. She currently rooms and roams with 2 cats: Kiki Karma, a crazy calico and rescued feral, and Toby Tyler, a 16 lb. year old orange tabby; rescued by Milo Foundation from his last day on death row in a high-kill shelter. Among other things; Jodi is a librarian, writer and photographer.

Good grief, what a term: “high-kill shelter”. Is that irony or an oxymoron or both? Or is it simply unbearable? I could never enter one of those places. I’d want to take home every single animal in there. I’d have nightmares otherwise.

I never thought about it like that! Kind of like saying: federal prison sanctuary or death row retreat center!

I am sorry you are so unhappy currently with your library job. I had a similar library job experience, and took a big risk, and quit. It just wasn’t the right match for me. Quitting is not always the answer for everyone though. I actually was very lucky and got hired at a very wonderful library job here in NC. It is the most groovy job ever, and I count my blessings. I do plan to create some sort of professionally focussed blog, but I haven’t come up with a theme or focus yet. I am a YA public librarian. Hope you cheer up soon.
